S Korean ferry captain gets 36 years
A South Korean court says there's no proof a ferry captain knew his actions would cause more than 300 deaths when his ship sank and he was acquitted of homicide charges as a result. But the captain has been sentenced to 36 years in prison for negligence and abandoning passengers. The chief engineer and other crew members also got prison terms.

UNH expands sexual violence prevention program
The University of New Hampshire is expanding its nationally-recognized sexual violence prevention program to a younger audience. In January, the university will begin implementing the "Bringing in the Bystander" program at 30 high schools in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The program teaches students how to safely intervene when they see someone at risk of sexual assault or dating violence.

Laconia police net 7 in drug sweep
Laconia police say they've arrested seven people and issued warrants for five others in a drug sweep. The people range in age from 19 to 47. Officers in Gilford and Belmont A
