High court to hear immigration case
Amid harsh Republican campaign rhetoric over immigration, oral arguments are scheduled before the Supreme Court today in an important case possibly affecting millions living illegally in the United States. The Obama administration is asking the justices to allow two programs that could shield roughly 4 million people from deportation and make them eligible to work.

Durham police statistics for 2015 show decline in arrests
Durham police say statistics have shown that the department took more calls for service last year, but arrests were down 10 percent in the college town from 2014. Officials say calls for assistance have increased by approximately 3 to 5 percent annually over the last 10 years.

Maine looking for anglers to survey brook trout
Maine's wildlife department and a pair of outdoors organizations are looking for volunteer fishermen to help survey the state's ponds and coastal streams for brook trout. Maine Audubon says the fish have "significantly declined" throughout their range because of issues such as development and introduction of competing species of fish.
