British PM says not sure if IS militant was killed
British Prime Minister David Cameron says it hasn't yet been confirmed that the Islamic State militant known has "Jihadi John" has been killed in a U.S. airstrike in Syria. The militant, a British man whose name is Mohammed Emwazi, has been seen in several Islamic State videos showing the beheadings of Western Hostages. U.S. officials say a drone yesterday targeted a vehicle in Raqqa, Syria, in which Emwazi was believed to be riding. Cameron says targeting Emwazi was "a strike at the heart" of the Islamic State group.

Mother of teen found dead in motel, arrested 
Police say the death of a 17-year-old girl found in a Rochester motel room was drug-related, and her mother and two others have been arrested. Evangelique "Eve" Tarmey was found at the Riviera Motel last month. A toxicology report shows that the Spaulding High School senior's death was accidental and due to "acute fentanyl intoxication."

Judge considering cancer patient's plea
A judge is pondering a New Hampshire cancer patient's plea for a medical marijuana identification card before state dispensaries open so she can buy the drug immediately in a neighboring state. Linda Horan is battling late-stage lung cancer. She wants to obtain marijuana now in Maine, which serves patients with registry cards in their home states. Four dispensaries are slated to open in New Hampshire early next year.
