Jury selection begins in Boston Marathon bombing case
The jury selection process opens today in Boston for accused marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The process could run several weeks with jurors chosen from a pool of roughly 1,200 people.

Casino supporters are hopeful
Casino gambling nearly gained enough momentum to pass the New Hampshire House during Governor Maggie Hassan's first term, and its supporters are optimistic heading into the new session. But competing priorities over how to spend the money could hinder the 400-member House's ability to agree on a single bill. Democrats favor using the revenue to increase state spending while Republicans seek to offset reductions in business taxes.

Negotiations resume
FairPoint and unions officials representing more than 1,700 striking workers have resumed negotiations for the first time in more than a month. They held talks yesterday in Washington, D.C. Both the company and the union declined comment yesterday evening. The workers in Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire have been on strike since October.
