Canadian wildfires
Thousands of evacuees from a raging Canadian wildfire are being moved again. Canadian officials will start moving thousands of people from work camps north of devastated Fort McMurray in a mass highway convoy today if it is safe to do so. Officials airlifted 8,000 people yesterday and will continue that today. Fire officials aren't even talking about containment. More than 80,000 people have fled.

Effort stalls in NH Senate
An effort to remove criminal penalties for possessing needles with trace amounts of drugs has stalled in the New Hampshire Senate. New Hampshire is in the midst of an opioid addiction crisis, with drug use and related overdoses rising, and sponsors of the legislation said it would pave the way for needle exchange programs that offer a safe way for people to dispose of dirty needles.
