Lippert released from S. Korean hospital
U.S. Ambassador Mark Lippert says officials will take "a hard look" at security procedures in South Korea and then make a decision on any needed changes. Lippert left a South Korean hospital today after five days of treatment because of a knife attack by a man screaming about Korean unification. Lippert says he feels "pretty darn good, all things considered."

Woman pleads guilty by reason of insanity
A woman accused of jumping from a second-story window with her twin babies, killing one and severely injuring the other, has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Patina Welch told investigators that men with guns were in her house, trying to kill her 4-month-old twins, and she was trying to save them. Welch has been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder.

4 dead in northern Maine crash
State police say a woman in an SUV was trying to pass a tractor-trailer on a northern Maine highway when she smashed head-on into a car, killing herself and three people in the other car, including a 2-year-old girl. Troopers say one person survived the crash yesterday morning on Route 161, about 10 miles from the Canadian border.
