I'm loving the fact that I get to be on WOKQ from 3-7pm playing great country music, but my day starts much earlier!

Every morning, without fail, the 16 sheep gather around the feeding station led by this particular, noisy sheep named Clover.  Around 6:15 she starts calling me to rise from my comfortable slumber to throw hay and you know what?  It works every time.  I rise, dress and grab an "idiot brick" (hay for the uninitiated) and feed them.  They quiet right down. So, that makes me a farmer.  Later in the day I get to be the DJ.

My wife, Janice and I share the chores but she does a lot more with the animals than I do.  She names them, provides them comfort and handles the art involved with farming.  We have sheep, chickens and mini-ponies living with us.

Each spring, Roger Link stops by the farm to perform a very important function, shearing the sheep.

It takes about 8-10 minutes per sheep to shear them.

Janice then uses the processed wool to make art, like this wool design of our Aussie, Riley.

Here's another illustration of the art she creates.  I know where the real talent is!
