I took a walk along the beach this morning with Tim McGraw.

Well, he was with me, musically! I listened to Tim's latest offering 'Sundown Heaven Town.' First of all, this is one helluva produced album. Byron Gallimore, who has produced several of McGraw's albums (he's also produced for Faith Hill and New England's OWN JoDee Messina, just to name a few!) did an outstanding job, as usual. The quality is amazing. According to Billboard, SDHT is Tim's 15th chart topper.

Okay, now that we've got the 'business' side of the review out of the way, following are my top 3 songs off the album:

1. Meanwhile, Back at Mama's

I mean, come on. You want to hate them because they're so freakin' perfect, but you can't. The way their voices sound together on this cut is magical. When I listen to this song, I can actually visualize Mama's home and I want to go there. I can see the 'porch light on,' I can smell 'supper on the stove' I wanna grab a can of 'beer in fridge.' I want to see the 'red sun sinking out low on the ridge.'  I wonder if Faith would let me be her just for one night? I'm guessing...NO!

2. Keep on Truckin'

I really hope this is released as a single.  It's a feel good song that in my opinion definitely needs to be on radio. By the way, 'Keep on Truckin,' is the only cut on the album co-written by Tim.

3.  Portland, Maine

It's a sad break-up song but from the first strum of the guitar, I was hooked.  It's beautifully written. It's the kind of song, you can picture yourself getting lost in. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point, 'Portland, Maine' gets released as a single. As a matter of fact, I'll be bummed if it doesn't hit radio!

So, there you have it. My top 3 picks from Tim McGraw's Sundown Heaven Town CD. Agree? Disagree? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
