(Concord, N.H.) - The New Hampshire House has killed a bill that would have licensed a single casino in the state that would have provided up to 5,000 video slots and 150 table games. The vote of 173-144 to kill the bill is the result of a special commission that was appointed to study regulatory issues after a casino bill failed to pass the house last year. Governor Maggie Hassan continues to argue that New Hampshire should legalize a casino to take advantage of gambling profits that might otherwise go to Massachusetts.
