Netflix Has a Fake New Year’s Eve Countdown to Trick Kids

The streaming video giant is giving parents the chance to get the kids to bed early with "King Julien’s New Year Countdown."

Netflix has gone from binge-watching giant to crafty with its new trick to get the kids to bed early on New Year's Eve.

The streaming giant has a show called "All Hail King Julien" that offers a zany animated countdown to the New Year. The kicker is that this can be played at anytime, which means mommy and daddy can send the kids to bed anytime they want.

The three-minute countdown features King Julien and all of his animal friends dancing around. All masking the fact that the children watching this have parents that just want them to go to sleep.

Time reports that 34 percent of Netflix users already use the video service to trick their kids into going to be on New Year's Eve. Now a troop of dancing animals will add to the deception.
