Seems like every week, we have a new top 10, or even top 5 list to report New Hampshire's a part of. The latest might leave you with a heavy sigh and eye-roll.

Property Taxes. New Hampshire is now #3 on the list of states with the highest property tax.  According to Wallet Hub, with "a 2.19% effective real estate tax rate, the annual taxes on a home priced at the state's median value amount to $5,241." Our neighbors in Massachusetts are actually taxed less on property. Massachusetts placed next to Maine just outside of the top 20.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the average American household spends $2,197 on property taxes for their homes each year. How did they arrive at their findings? According to the article, WalletHub "compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia by using U.S. Census Bureau data to determine real-estate property tax rates and applying assumptions based on national auto-sales data to determine vehicle property tax rates."

Hey, they can't ALL be top 5 lists of awesome!
