New Hampshire’s Ken Burns “The Civil War” Returns in the Fall.

Walpole New Hampshire resident Ken Burns is synonymous with great documentaries about the history and culture of this great country.

PBS announced today that THE CIVIL WAR (in my opinion his crown jewel) will be back this fall in a newly restored high definition edition.

As a history buff I admired Burns presentation of the material and even the soundtrack is an example of what the medium is capable of, educating the American public about an unsettling time in our history.

The Civil War showcases the battle from both sides in a balanced manner and details how it's effects on families and our culture is still felt today.

It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since the initial broadcast.  Please make sure you let youngsters in your family watch this.

Like any Ken Burns documentary it is time well spent.
