NH SPCA Tries To Locate The Woman Who Abandoned This Parrot Last Week

(Stratham, NH) - The Blue Fronted Amazon Parrot was found in a soft carrier inside a plastic bag in the donation bin at the SPCA building.

The parrot was discovered Friday morning and was evaluated by the house veterinarian who determined the bird was not in immediate distress. The bird, who has been named "Mayday", has not eaten since Friday, which is of concern to officials.

Surveillance video shows a blonde woman in a dark colored sedan dropping off the parrot around 9 am Friday, before the Adoption Center opened.

While abandoning an animal like this is against the law, NH SPCA is not seeking prosecution. They do want to locate the woman so they can provide better care to the parrot.
