NH State Police Colonel Robert Quinn said in a news conference earlier today that a trooper involved in yesterday's chase has been relieved of his duty.

50 year old Richard Simone lead police on a multi-state high speed before being apprehended in Nashua.

Aerial video of the chase ended with Simone surrendering  to police.  While on the ground with his hands extended out in surrender, video clearly shows an officer move in and punch Simone repeatedly.

WMUR reports that Colonel Quinn said of the matter..........

I want the public and law enforcement personnel to know that the Division of State Police does not condone the unjustified use of force, and it will not be tolerated. I recognize that the failure to hold law enforcement responsible for their actions erodes the public trust in that authority," Quinn said. "To that end, the public trust must never be compromised, and I assure that any wrongdoing will be dealt with in full compliance of the law and our professional standards of conduct.

Simone is currently being held without bail.
