Northeast Credit Union CEO Dies in Snowmobile Accident

Multiple snowmobile accidents in New Hampshire have resulted in one death and several injuries.

62 year old Peter Kavalauskas of Dover, President and CEO of Northeast Credit Union of Portsmouth, was pronounced dead at the scene when his snowmobile smashed into the shoreline on Millen Pond in Washington.  Police say speed was probably a factor in the accident.  Kavalauskas had recently announced his retirement after 35 years on the job, but agreed to stay on until his replacement could be hired.  So far, the Credit Union, based in Portsmouth hasn't released a statement on his death, but a spokesman said that it would probably comment on the accident this week.
