Note To My Daughter

Dear Heather,

I know you and your husband have spent a long 9 months waiting for the birth of my second grandchild.

As these things go, the due date has been a bit of a moving target.  We had strong reason to think that maybe last week would be the time.  I took vacation last week and stayed close to home waiting for the call.  The call never came.  Maybe were looking at a Christmas baby.  Handy for me as it's less dates to remember.  Lousy for the kid since Christmas babies always lose out in the present department. All I know is I'm back to work this week... And somebody owes me a grand kid!
