Another day with a heat advisory, and even beaches are closing.

According to the Lowell Sun, Rynne Beach is closed to the public. The popular downtown waterfront area will now be closed off to the public during what is slated to be the hottest week of 2018. Yesterday, the City of Lowell announced that high bacteria counts have caused the beach closure.

The dog days of summer are not without local relief, as according to The Sun, misting stations are set up at Hadley Park, Eagle Park and Father McGuire Park. In addition, those who are looking for longer relief during this legit heat wave can also cool off at local pools. The Sun reported South Common Park Pool and McPherson Park Pool will continue to be open. There are also splash pads at Shedd Park, O'Donnell Park and Mulligan Park.

According to WMUR News 9, the heat index will be near 100 today. Showers and thundershowers are possible as well.
