You were a star in college? You haven't played baseball since little league? Whichever is the case, the Coastal New England Baseball League would be happy have you!

Back in 2009, some friends of mine and I decided to start a non-profit wood bat baseball league. We wanted it to be competitive but also have it be a fun way to hang out with friends on Sundays. More importantly, we wanted to play real baseball: softball is all well and good, but it isn't the same.

We're now entering our eighth season of play, and I don't think I've had as much fun anywhere. We redraft the teams each year, so a teammate one year may be a friendly foe the next. This allows two things to happen. One, we don't have one stacked team that wins every year. Second, it allows us to welcome players of all levels-- we've had former professionals playing alongside guys who last played when they were six!

We have brothers, fathers and sons and long lost high school friends all returning to the game they love every spring. If you're interested in playing, visit CoastalNEBL.org and sign up! Our teams are being formed now and the season in slated to start April 17th at Saint Thomas High School in Dover. We also play some games in Portsmouth, Eliot and York.

If you want to play baseball in the seacoast, we'd be happy to see you.
