Police Chase in Portsmouth ends in Arrest and Damage

26 year old Joshua Laurent of Epping is currently at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, after crashing his vehicle into a parked car and utility pole in the city last night.

A police chase in Portsmouth last night ended with an Epping man under arrest and hospitalized.  26 year old Joshua Laurent of Epping is currently at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, after crashing his vehicle into a parked car and utility pole in the city last night.

He suffered minor injuries after a police chase through the city that ended on Middle Street with the accident.  Broken glass and metal littered the sidewalk at the scene, and police closed off a section of the road after the 7:30 p.m. incident.

A state police trooper pursued the suspect after a report of a possibly impaired driver who had left the state liquor store at the Portsmouth Traffic Circle.  The suspect refused to stop when the trooper attempted to pull him over for motor vehicle violations.  St. Laurent is charged with aggravated Driving while intoxicated and disobeying a police officer.
