As someone who loves fanning through newspapers and grabs those weekly papers on the way out of the grocery store, I'm a little disappointed.

I get it, of course. The costs associated with printing a newspaper are substantial. It isn't just the cost of the paper and ink, but the time spent on getting the layout just right and distributing the papers everywhere. Moving the endeavor online makes sense.

The latest to move their operations entirely to the web is The Sound, billed as free & independent news for the seacoast, a relative newcomer to the scene having started little more than a year and a half ago. Publisher Matt Kanner says that the April 27th issue will be their last print edition.
