Portsmouth Nurse Has RN License Suspended

(Portsmouth, NH) - A travel nurse assigned to Portsmouth Regional Hospital has lost her privilege to practice in New Hampshire.

Lisa Lucas, who is licensed in Virginia, has been working in the I.C.U. at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.  Virginia is member of the Nurse Licensure Compact.

Officials are investigating complaints that Lucas diverted controlled drugs including Fentanyl, Meperidine, Hydromorphone and Lorazepam over the course of several months.

The New Hampshire Board of Nursing has issued an emergency order, temporarily suspending Lucas' license to practice in the state, pending a full hearing next week.
