There are 28 cards available, and any citizen of any age is welcome to ask an officer for their card.  Each card features the officers' name and photograph on the front, and includes a biography and special message on the back.

There is also a trading card collection program in effect that will last throughout the year.  Children eligible to participate in the program must attend the Portsmouth School System, and or be Portsmouth residents ages 6-12 years old.

Once the participating child has collected ALL 28 cards, then they can take their collection to a bi-weekly check in where they will receive a participation prize, and a raffle ticket for a grand prize drawing.  Grand prize raffle drawings will happen at the end of each month, and continue throughout the year.

The first bi-weekly check will be held at the Connie Bean Recreation Center on Wednesday February 24th from 3:30PM-5:30PM.

To view the 2016 trading card collection, program rules, and forms, please visit: www.cityofportsmouth.com/police.

The goal of the trading cards is to create an opportunity for citizens to interact and get familiar with each officer who proudly serves their community.

Portsmouth Police would like to also advise the public of the following in reference to trading card collecting:

Please do NOT approach officers while they are engaged in the course of their duties (responding to a call, during a motor vehicle stop, medical call, etc).  Your safety is our primary concern.

If you have questions about the cards collector program, please contact Problem Oriented Police Detective Rochelle Jones at (603) 610-7503 or email: rjones@cityofportsmouth.com.
