The proper inflation of the official NFL pigskin is the story of the moment here in Studio Big

Were you as surprised as I was to read how a TV station in Indianapolis broke the story of how the Patriots had allegedly deflated game balls last night?  So far, Tom Brady is dissing the report in an article in ESPN. In an effort to uncover the truth about properly inflating an NFL game ball, we went right to the source.

Wilson makes the official game ball of the NFL.  They ship 54 official balls for each championship game. Their website states that the ball should be filled to 13 psi (pounds per square inch).  That's just a few psi less than you might set the Super Swampers on your truck to go mudding in. Livestrong.com has an article on how a football feels when its inflated correctly. In comparison, a stability ball is only filled to 2 psi.

No matter what the league find out in regards to "Deflate-gate" or what actions it might take, the entertainment value of this alone adds a new dimension to what will surely be a crazy next couple of weeks. Go Pats!
