There's a headline I never thought I'd write

So the headline pretty much sums it up.

According to the Boston Globe, David Ortiz's bobblehead (which was slated to be given out at tonight's game to the first 15,0000 fans) has been pulled from the handout line after the Sox organization has deemed it "racially offensive."

The Globe states that team president Sam Kennedy says......

It was an inaccurate portrayal of David. It doesn’t really look like David. No. 2, I personally thought it seemed to be an offensive portrayal of him and racially insensitive. If I was feeling this way, certainly other people would. So we pulled the plug.

The bobblehead depicts Ortiz holding a microphone with his fist pointed high in the air.  It's a reference to his 2013 speech in which he declares Boston "Our f**king city!"

Hopefully you weren't planning on grabbing one of these bobbleheads.  Take a look for yourself via the "Only in Boston" twitter page.
