Holiday packages are zipping around the country and postal carriers are rushing to meet the demand.

The United States Postal Service has stepped up their game this year by making deliveries seven days a week, according to Fortune. This increase in delivery days will run until the end of the Christmas.

This gives USPS one extra day over competitors UPS and Fedex, and help them keep up with all of the online shopping.

Fortune reports that the postal service is "expecting the number of packages it handles to range between 450 million and 470 million packages." This number exceeds last year's. making this a possible record-breaking year for deliveries.

I know we all want our packages delivered on time, and it is nice to see the effort being made to make that possible.
