In a recent Facebook post, the department says....

On June 12, 2017 at about 10pm Rochester Police responded to Planet Fitness at 306 North Main Street for a reported assault. The 18-year-old female victim reported she was walking out to her car when she was assaulted from behind. She was punched multiple times and thrown to the ground. The male suspect then gets in his car and drives off.

Rochester Police just received the video of incident on June 19th. The video is graphic showing the victim being punched approximately 39 times as well as being thrown to the ground and kneed to the head. For the privacy of the victim we are not releasing the entire video.

We are seeking the public’s help in order to identify the suspect. He’s described as a white male, wearing a white t-shirt, shorts, white sneakers, baseball hat, and sunglasses. We believe the vehicle he fled in was a light colored Ford Fusion or similar vehicle.

The victim did not sustain major injuries. Frisbie EMS was called to the scene that night, however, the victim chose to have a friend drive her to the hospital for treatment.
