Democratic Congresswoman Annie Kuster says a state representative's comments that she is ugly are a reflection of the disrespect the Republican Party has for women. Republican state Representative Steve Vaillancourt compared Kuster to her opponent, state Representative Marilinda Garcia, saying Garcia has a better chance of winning because Kuster is "ugly." He has not apologized.
Man gets 45 days for Maine egg farm shooting
A Connecticut man hired to shoot rodents at a Maine egg farm has been sentenced to 45 days in jail for accidentally fatally shooting a farm worker. Michael Warbin of Franklin, Connecticut, pleaded no contest to manslaughter in Androscoggin County Superior Court on Tuesday in connection with the August 2013 shooting of Manuel Adame. As part of a plea deal, the 45-year-old Warbin will serve 45 days of a three-year sentence, four years' probation, and perform 500 hours of community service.

Karen and Jay Priest live in Juneau, Alaska and last Thursday got the knock on the door that every parent dreads. Alaska State Police came to notify the family of their son's death. Turns out, Justin Priest was alive and well at his girlfriend's home. It was a case of mistaken identity.
