Smiley’s (Sorta) Returns to Dover

Smiley's built itself into a local institution over it's twenty year run before closing suddenly in February of 2012. So it came as a surprise to see what was briefly Koozy's once again sporting the Smiley's name. Turns out the folks who run Borderline Beverage will be running the new incarnation of Smiley's, which is to say it is and isn't Smiley's. It's nice that they plan on emulating what was great about Smiley's, but there was a very specific vibe to the old Smiley's that made it better than the sum of it's parts. I truly hope they're able to capture whatever that was because I still miss it.
