( Augusta, Maine ) - Author Stephen King isn't pleased with  Maine Governor Paul Lepage's claim that he has moved out of the state of Maine.

In his radio address this week, Lepage said states without an income tax, such as Florida, have lured away Maine residents, including  King. But King says Lepage is "full of the stuff that makes the grass grow green."

He says he and his wife "pay every cent" of their Maine income taxes and "are glad to do it."

A Plaistow woman who fled to a Florida amusement park with her boyfriend after allowing him to  severely beat her 3-year-old son leaving him  with burns, a brain injury, and head-to-toe bruises,has been granted parole. A parole board agreed today to release      Jessica Linscott  in May after she serves the minimum of her 2  1/2- to 7-year sentence.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has hired two more New Hampshire operatives for his political action committee as he readies for a presidential bid. David Chesley, a senior adviser for the state republican party, has been hired as political director and state rep. Tammy Simmons as operations director.

The New Hampshire House of Representatives is asking the state supreme court to weigh in on a bill requiring people registering to vote - including out-of-state students or military personnel - to also register their cars and obtain drivers' licenses in New Hampshire.  A New Hampshire civil liberties union lawyer says  asking people to do these things amounts to a poll tax that forces people to pay the state to vote.
