TBT: Do You Remember the Puppy Channel?

Dog lovers and TV nostalgia buffs may remember a short lived network from back in the late 1970's that featured footage of puppies. I know so many people who are passionate about their pets that it makes me wonder why it ever went away?

The channel was only in business from 1997 to 2001 according to Wikipedia. Sadly, there are no videos of the Puppy Channel on YouTube, only videos of people's individual dogs but I'd be willing to bet that if some daring television executive were to try another version of it, that a puppy channel on TV would become pretty successful these days. There may be 157 channels on your system but most night there's still nothing on.
