Thanks to record snowfall and cold temperatures, a recent study claims that New Hampshire has become a less desirable place for retirement.

Bankrate.com ranked states in the Midwest and Rocky Mountains above New England and the places you would traditionally think of. Maine and New Hampshire rank above Florida and the mid Atlantic states. The Granite state is down two spots to 16th place in its ranking due to the colder weather the region has experienced this past winter.

The study also looked at financial considerations for retirement planning but the weather seems to be a bigger thing. We normally get an average of 60 inches every winter but January and February totaled far beyond that. If we have any more winters like the one we just went through, we’ll all be looking for other places to retire to.
