The Gundalow “Piscataqua” Has Set Sail For The Season
(Portsmouth, NH) - The Memorial Day weekend marked the start of the 2017 sailing season for the 70' foot, flat-bottomed boat launched in 2011.
The "Piscataqua" is the second gundalow constructed by The Gundalow Company in Portsmouth. It was built specifically to carry students and the public on educational sails in the Piscataqua River basin.
The "Piscataqua" sets sail 7 days a week, and is also available for special charters.
The first gundalow, The Edward H. Adams, was launched in 1982 and was a dock-side attraction along the Portsmouth waterfront. The Edward H. Adams was retired and donated to the City of Dover and now sits in the newly-constructed Henry Law Park playground.
