Sam Phillips was a legendary record producer and owner of Sun Records in Memphis.Four of his legendary discoveries are featured in THE MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, a musical now playing at THE OGUNQUIT PLAYHOUSE.

Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and a kid named Elvis make up the quartet of young stars getting together for a "jam session"  on December 4th, 1956 which is the plot of this Tony Award winning musical.

I was fortunate enough to talk with two of the "Quartet", Robert Briton Lyons who portrays Carl Perkins and Scott Morrow who plays Johnny Cash on the ability to become two of the founding members of the rockabilly sound of the 1950's.

THE MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is performing on stage at THE OGUNQUIT PLAYHOUSE until September 19th.  Everyone who has seen it raves about the music and performances of these talented men.
