Head Of Veterans Affairs To Appear Before Senate Today
The head of the Veterans Affairs Department plans to point to improvements in the troubled hospital system when he appears at a Senate hearing today. VA Secretary Robert McDonald says there's been outreach to all veterans on official and unofficial waiting lists at the VA's Phoenix medical center, the focal point of the accusations. He says more employees have been hired and more patients are being seen.

Toddler Suffers Burns After Allegedly Put In Dryer
A man is accused of putting a 2-year-old Maine toddler in a clothes dryer and turning it on, burning the boy. Police say the boy's mother left him with her boyfriend, Adam Morton, while she went to work. Court documents say the Bangor boy suffered second-degree burns on his arms and back and burns and blisters on his feet.

A family walked into a funeral home to say goodbye to a family member. Before Mary Anderson left this earth she made it clear about what she wanted to be buried in. However, the Florida funeral home had all of Mary's clothing on the wrong body.
