The Worst Thing That Could Happen on a Monday Morning

A general rule of thumb at any radio station is...on Monday mornings, expect the unexpected.  But, today was totally UNACCEPTABLE!When you get into work at 4am, one of the first things you do is head to the employee break room and get your coffee.  But this morning, the early risers were greeted by this:

Luckily, Mark Ericson came to the rescue and rushed to the local Dunkin Donuts for a 'Box o' Joe' Thanks, Mark.  There have been many times I wonder what happens at radio station on weekends, but I've realized it's better I don't open that Pandora's Box.

Another Town Falls To Insurgent
A Sunni extremist group that splintered from al-Qaida has captured another northern Iraqi town in a blitz that started last week. The militants overran the town of Tal Afar today. Last week it captured Tikrit and Mosul,Iraq's second largest city. As a precaution, the U.S. State Department has repositioned some staffers at its massive embassy in Baghdad to safer locations in Iraq and in Jordan.

Water Main Break Detours Traffic In Salem
The town of Salem is dealing with its third water main break affecting Route 28 in a month.The problem is slowing down morning traffic, and is expected to affect the evening commute, too. The break was reported at about 2:30 a.m. on Route 28, in front of 265 South Broadway.

Former UVM Pleads Guilty To Embezzlement
A former University of Vermont employee who pleaded guilty to embezzling at least $185,000 from the college's cheese making program faces up to 10 years in prison. Jody Farnham of Burlington admits she diverted and cashed for her own use tuition checks earmarked for the college's Vermont Institute for Artisan Cheese. Authorities say she also used UVM credit cards for personal purchases.
