The NH Legislature passed a law 9 years ago authorizing a committee to oversee the design, construction and maintenance of a memorial to honor public works employees who have died while performing their duties on behalf of a municipality, county or state.

34 such employees have lost their lives in NH over the past 50 years.

The proposed memorial will be located at the NH DOT Office Building on Hazen Drive in Concord.

To date, organizers have raised $25 thousand, and  $80 thousand is needed to begin construction.

The current Sprint Fundraising Campaign runs through Friday.
