Tom Brady left a federal courthouse in New York late Wednesday afternoon after appearing with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in front of a federal judge over the "deflategate" saga.

ESPN reports that there was a public hearing until approximately 12:45 on Wednesday afternoon, after which private meetings were held with both sides. They are scheduled to appear in court in New York once again next week.

There had been speculation as to whether Brady would accept a reduced suspension but as they exited the court building an NFL Players Association representative only characterized the day as being  "productive" according the WHDH-TV in Boston.
