Police in Scarborough, Maine are investigating the death of a goat on the property of Smiling Hill Farms. The deceased goat was also pregnant, and killed in one of the fenced in areas.

According to News Center Maine, the goat, Ava, was last seen alive around 4pm on Saturday. By 10pm, the goat was discovered. According to the article, police are saying this incident was NOT an accident. They received a report on Sunday of a trespasser who was on the property of the farm/lumberyard.

Smiling Hill Farm is offering a reward of $1,000 for information on the case. Also, those with any information concerning the death are asked to call Scarborough PD's Anonymous Crime Tip Hotline at 207-730-GET'M (4386), or Animal Control Officer Chris Crepes at 207-730-4318.
