Two-State High-Speed Chase Ended Sunday In Somersworth, NH

(Somersworth, NH) - State and local police arrested a Maine man in the Walmart parking lot in Somersworth after a chase that began in Wells, Maine.

35 year old Matthew Barnaby of Dresden, Maine faces multiple charges after refusing to stop in Wells Sunday and leading police on a high-speed pursuit through a number of communities. Police in Berwick used a spike mat to deflate one tire on Barnaby's car before he crossed into New Hampshire. The pursuit ended when Barnaby pulled into the Walmart parking lot on High Street in Somersworth and he was taken into custody.

Barnaby is charged in Somersworth with D.U.I, Reckless Operation, Disobeying An Officer, Misuse Of Plates, Violating The Open Container Law and being an Habitual Offender.

He will face similar charges in Maine.
