The Portsmouth City Council is getting nearer to changing the law regarding allowing ride sharing in town. If passed, it will start the process of bringing companies like Uber into the Port City.

As Seacoast Online reported this week, the city is discussing changes to its transportation services ordinance which would open up ride sharing businesses to operating here. The next step is to vote on the final approval of the changes when the City Council meets on August 3rd.

Fans and opponents of the change have voiced the reasons behind their support or disapproval of the proposed changes. Uber continues to make headlines in cities around the country where it has begun the ride sharing service.
