UNH Professor Says “Clear Your Roof”
(Durham, NH) - A UNH Professor is urging homeowners to clear the snow from their roofs before the next strom system arrives.
Ray Cook is an Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He says with more snow forecast for the weekend, and the possibility of some freezing rain adding to the problems, flat roofs and valley that are already under the heavy weight of snow could be subject to structural damage.
A number of roof collapses have occured and many buildings have been closed because of structural damage done by the recent snowfall.
