There is a driver out there who severely damaged one of New Hampshire's treasures and is clearly not taking responsibility.

Police said that a driver ran into Corbin Bridge in Newport on Saturday in a hit-and-run, according to The Union Leader. Parts of the vehicle were left behind alongside the extensive damage to the facade of the bridge.

The covered bridge is structurally sound, but the damage to such a historic landmark is truly a shame. Police said that the vehicle, which should have "extensive damager to the passenger side," was traveling eastbound when the incident occurred.

Anyone with information can contact Newport police at 863-3232 or provide an anonymous tip to the Connecticut Valley Crime Stoppers at ctvalleycrimestoppers.org.
