Legendary actress Valerie Harper is resting and relaxing with her family.

Last week Harper best known as Rhoda in The MaryTyler Moore show fell ill after a performance at the Ogunquit Playhouse and their production of "Nice Work If You Can Get It".

According to the People Magazine report a Playhouse official says

"Valerie is feeling great right now and we want her to continue to rest and to enjoy her family. After discussing with them, we decided that we wanted to relieve her of any pressure of having to return to the show, which only runs for two more weeks,"

Valerie Harper contacted her fans through her Facebook page.

"I am happy to report that I am not, nor have I been, in a coma," she wrote. "As anyone who has taken strong medication knows, it doesn't always agree with you, even with me as this experience proves. I am confronting these hurdles with my usual enthusiasm and love of life."

Ms. Harper is battling brain cancer.  She was also recently a cast member on ABC's Dancing with the Stars and showed great stamina during her time on the program.  All of us who grew up watching her on television wish her a speedy recovery and thank her for all the laughs over the years.
