The driver, a 61-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital suffering from non-life threatening injuries said he choked on his coffee and lost control of his Jeep Cherokee.

According to a witness who spoke with WCVB in Boston, it appears the SUV may have struck the guardrail then went up and over the guardrail and down the embankment before finally coming to rest after slamming into a utility pole.

National Grid crews worked through the evening to replace the damaged pole. Local residents in the area had to do without power while the repairs were made.
