Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester Getting a New Name
Great Woods is no longer Great Woods and Meadowbrook is no longer Meadowbrook. Come September, the Verizon Wireless Arena will no longer be the Verizon Wireless Arena. I can't keep up with this stuff.
The AP reports that beginning September 1st, the Verizon Wireless Arena will become SNHU Arena after the non-profit Southern New Hampshire University bought the naming rights for the next ten years. In addition to the naming rights, the university entered into a partnership with current management group SMG that involves internships and university functions.
It may take a little while to adjust, but it is a safe bet you'll just call it "The Snoo" eventually-- meaning Futurama fans everywhere will giggle a little bit, but that's another story...
