Vermont Man Wins $12,000 in Laconia’s Winni Derby

Anyone who goes fishing has a "big one that got away" story and by anyone I mean most of us. There are very few people like Clyde Lemay of Vermont who not only reel the fish in but bring home a big payday as well.

The Winni Derby was held this past weekend in Laconia and the results were covered this weekend in the Union Leader. The winning fish he caught was a 4.14 pound salmon. Officials say that this year's catch was slightly larger in terms of weight than last year.

Clyde was presented with a check for $12,000 for his catch. Other winners in various categories won thousands more. Follow the Winni Derby and its participants on the derby's Facebook page.
