Waiting For Ice Out on Lake Winnipesaukee

If you're a boater or live close to Lake Winnipesaukee, you're waiting to hear two words.

That's "Ice Out", or when the M/S Mount Washington cruise ship can navigate between Alton Bay, Center Harbor, Weirs Beach, Meredith and Wolfeboro. Emotionally it means lake goers have made it past our very tough winter and can finally enjoy the lake again.

Dave Emerson of Emerson Aviation is the guy who checks the ice on the lake every year and finally gives the all clear.  I saw him being interviewed on WMUR-TV 9 awhile back.  You can see how things look by viewing some of the webcams that show how close Ice Out is getting.
