Was This The Inspiration for “Gravity”? [VIDEO]

This is actually from 2006 and it's real NASA video. It was called "SuitSat-1" and is relatively simple; fill up an old astronaut space suit with a bunch of radio telemetry gear to monitor it, and toss the suit out of the International Space Station airlock. Believe it or not, space suits actually have expiration dates, and this was an expired suit. The experiment lasted 7 months before the suit met it's fiery death in Earth's atmosphere.
