Wow! What a way to start a morning commute! A tractor-trailer traveling along Interstate 93 in Manchester caught fire just before Exit 7 (Route 101 east).

The fire appeared to break out in the front of the vehicle. State Police and Manchester fire crews quickly arrived on scene. Traffic was stopped completely on all southbound lanes on I-93, as the fire was extingushed. Once crews put out the blaze, one travel lane was opened so the massive delays could begin to slowly ease out.

New Hampshire State Police say the only occupant of the tractor trailer, the driver, was not injured in the incident. He was able to escape the vehcile before the flames began. The cause of the fire is not known at this time. The blaze was extingushed shortly after 7am this morning, however, the damage was done for many commuters on that stretch of roadway. The delays were massive for a Thursday morning rush hour commute.
