Today on the Morning Waking Crew, we did a follow up on Paul Monti, who is the inspiration for the song "I Drive Your Truck" by Lee Brice. Mr. Monti's son was a soldier who was killed in the line of duty.  He drives his son's truck in remembrance. We created a special remix of the song to include sound clips of an attempted interview with Mr. Monti.  Today, we told the story of how a middle school teacher heard our remix and Mr. Monti's story. She decided to have her class write cards and notes to Mr. Monti as a pick-me-up.  Mr. Monti was so appreciative, that he drove to the school and met with the kids. This whole story got me thinking about just how great of a job I have.  Most people think that being in radio is fun because we get to laugh all morning, get to go to concerts, and meet country stars.  That is all true, but it is things like this story that make this job incredible.  The power of radio made this wonderful story happen.  To me, these types of stories make it worth coming to work everyday.
